2024 National Falls Prevention Week Makes a Difference for a Fresno Resident
In celebration of National Falls Prevention Week, Sept 23-27, Resources for Independence Central Valley (RICV) partnered with Home Safety Services to perform home safety modifications to benefit Fresno resident Mr. C. Reese. Mr. Reese received a variety of services and counseling to help prevent falls and maintain his independence. Home Safety Services contributed materials and labor to the effort, all at no charge. Home modifications may have included grab bars, hand-held showers, toilet safety frames, ramps, or railings. This partnership highlights the importance of private companies and community agencies collaborating to meet the needs of at-risk community members and to highlight the importance of preventing falls. “It takes a team of resources to meet the needs of our community members”-RICV. This event was scheduled to coincide with this year’s National Falls Prevention Week and is latest chapter in this lengthy and fruitful public/private relationship.
