Martin Simenc
Martin Simenc is the owner and founder of Home Safety Services, Inc., Northern California’s preeminent provider of home modification services which enables seniors to maintain independence at home. Martin founded Home Safety Services in 1997 following his father’s stroke which had left him unsteady on his feet. Since then, Home Safety Services has helped over 30,000 seniors and their families by providing grab bars, stair railings, wheelchair ramps, stair lifts and shower conversions with the utmost expertise, efficiency and care. Martin’s education includes an AA degree from Menlo College, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University, and a Master’s in Business Administration (Finance and International Business) from the University of San Francisco. Prior to founding Home Safety Services, Martin enjoyed a career in industrial loss control and risk management with engineering roles within the Factory Mutual System and as Global Property Risk Manager at Hewlett-Packard Company. Along the way he became a licensed Professional Engineer (Fire Protection) and an Associate in Risk Management (ARM). Since founding Home Safety Services, Martin became a Licensed General Contractor in the State of California, a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) and a Certified Environmental Access Consultant (CEAC). As a pioneer in the field of Senior Home Modifications, Martin is a frequent speaker and consultant to various industry associations, healthcare providers and community organizations. He has contributed to the formation of multiple community-based fall prevention task forces including in his home county of San Mateo, where he resides with his wife and two children.
